This page provides an overview over the music layouting process.

The steps are:

  • Notators create Notations
    • A notation is the positioned representation of the by then ambiguous raw musical data. It contains the width of an element and additional layout information. For example, the class ChordNotation contains the alignment of its notes and accidentals. For details see:
  • Spacers create Spacings
    • Based on the notations, the positions of the elements within the measures, systems and frames can be computed.
  • No labels
